LeSSon FrOm An ExpeRience!

I saw some of the appeal students entering UMK few days ago. This make me recall back my experience in failing to get any place in any public universities. During that time, I was feeling very sad and disappointed because public university is my aim after Form 6. I felt guilty and ashamed towards my family. My friends’ pointers which are lower than mine are also able to further their studies. I thought I would be lucky enough where I still have a chance in appealing but it turned me down. I told myself not to give up and find solutions rather than keep weeping. I wrote many appeal letters along with my certified certs to some of the public uni included UMK. I’m very grateful but also ashamed because I make a hard time for my family especially my parents to fetch me to the post office that located far from my house to send those appeal letters with “pos laju”. Besides family, I’m also being supported and helped by my “close” friend where he is in UMK and he tried to introduce me into this uni by sending my certificates to the vice chancellor, Prof. Ir. Dr. Zainai B. Mohamed. Vice chancellor willing to accept me into UMK with my specified qualification and I was the last girl to be accepted into here. I received a call from the UMK’s academic staff the next day to inform my intake and asked me to report in few days time. I was surprised and delighted like I had won a million ringgit. Soon, I started to prepare and pack my stuffs to progress my pathway to UMK. I was accompanied by my parents, brother and sister to Kelantan. Although I felt awkward at the beginning but I really felt grateful and love to be here. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and “him” for supporting me and finally the vice chancellor of UMK for giving me the chance to study here. I’m proud to be here and I promised myself will work hard and won’t give up easily no matter I meet up with any problem. I learnt a lesson from this experience. We don’t wait the possibility or chance to come to us but we should find and grab it by working on it. Don’t ever judge those who try and fail but judge those who fail to try..
